The Motorcycle Sport Touring Association was founded in 1982 as the Honda Sport Touring Association, and as a chartered club of the AMA. The primary purpose of the club is to bring together riders whose focus is motorcycle sport touring, regardless of the type or brand of motorcycle. To reflect this non-specific brand emphasis, we changed our name to Motorcycle Sport Touring Association a few years ago.
While Sport Touring is our middle name, it’s really not all that we do. Adventure Touring, sport riding, track days, road racing, vintage bikes, dirt riding, restoration and collecting, etc. are all interests shared by many of our members. Motorcycles, and the people that love them, are what we are all about. We invite you to explore this website to find out more about us. Our history, our rallies, and especially our people.
The emphasis of our association is making friends, learning more about our sport, and making our motorcycle trips/rides more pleasant and meaningful. We promote excellence and safety in the enjoyment of motorcycle sport touring and are always trying to learn to be better, safer riders. We enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
We are RIDERS! We like to RIDE. If hitting up bars and posing is your thing, we probably are not for you. But, if you like to ride with others in your area that really know the roads and ride at a good pace, or if you like travel via motorcycle, or like riding twisty roads, or like exploring new areas and making new friends, we offer you our hand in friendship and encourage you to come along for the ride of your life….
